Final Fantasy fans eager to learn more about the long-in-development role-playing game, Final Fantasy XV, don’t have much longer to wait. Square Enix has announced that the next “Active Time Report,” a video broadcast series dedicated to the game, will be held as part of PAX Prime later this month.
The broadcast will take place on Saturday, August 29, from 4:30-5:30 PM PDT. You’ll be able to watch the entire event through Twitch, and we’ll bring you all the news from the show as it’s announced.
Final Fantasy XV director Hajmi Tabata will appear on a stage at the Grand Hyatt Seattle hotel to make his first-ever North American Active Time Report presentation. In terms of what he’ll talk about, Square Enix said fans can expect “a few personal stories” about the game’s development.
In addition, Tabata will share “insights into the recently revealed trailer,” which was published earlier this month as part of Gamescom in Germany.
Final Fantasy XV was originally announced years ago as Final Fantasy Versus XIII. The game later was re-named Final Fantasy XV and shifted from last-generation consoles to current platforms. The game’s main concept, world, and story were kept intact during the transition, though there have been some changes.
At Gamescom, Tabata confirmed to GameSpot that Final Fantasy XV would launch in 2016 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A specific release date, however, has not been announced.
“We can certainly say to people: it’s not going to be 2017. It’s going to be before that,” he said.
