The Kernel source of the OnePlus 2 smartphone is now available to download. Carl Pei, the co-founder of the Chinese manufacturer delivered the news on Twitter alongside a Github link to the kernel.

Having the OnePlus 2 kernel source freely available will allow developers to create custom ROMs for the “flagship killer.” The successor of the popular OnePlus One boots Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Oxygen OS out of the box.

A couple of days ago, OnePlus 2 received its first OTA update. The latter includes a Stagefright patch and improved battery performance among others.
